Art FAQs

1. What can you tell me about your prints?

Individual prints are created from scanned or professionally photographed originals using pigment-based inks, which have archival longevity. In your print, you will clearly see individual brushstrokes.  The canvas you will receive is a true, textured canvas (an Epson Glossy 285g Canvas, to be exact).  The color is extraordinary.  Our prints are water and UV resistant and will last at least 50 years if properly cared for.

We print on order, which means we make your print specifically for you.  Your canvas print will have a white 1/4"-1/2" border around all sides of the image so that you can mount, frame, or tape it to the wall in the way that suits you best.

If you plan to stretch or wrap your canvas around a wooden frame, you'll likely want a larger 2" border.  The 2" border cost includes color customization: you can choose black, brown, or custom-colored edges.  If you choose the 2" border option, we'll contact you about your color preference once we receive your order.

All prints can be personalized with hand-painted accents at no additional charge. If you select this option, the artist will hand-paint areas of the printed image at his or her discretion. You'll be able to see which strokes are hand-painted by turning the image to the light and looking for non-glossy areas.

Once your print is ready, we'll carefully roll it and mail it to you in a protective mailing tube.  For more information about shipping, please see our Purchasing FAQs.

2. Tell me more about your manufacturers.

Certainly!  Our exhibition-quality prints are produced by Pushdot.  Our bamboo mountings are crafted by Plywerk.  Both companies are located in Portland, Oregon and their work is simply gorgeous.  In fact, our reproductions are so expertly crafted that they are often mistaken for the originals.  Every piece is exceptional. You will be pleased!

3. Can you stretch the canvas for me so I receive it ready-to-hang?

Definitely.  And, we are happy to make it an easy process for you.  The price of a stretched canvas depends on the size you're ordering, as the size of the wooden frame is the largest determiner of cost.  Simply email us to let us know the artwork, size, and color you'd like the edges to be (black, brown, or custom) and we'll get you a quote.

4. Why are some prints listed as available mounted on bamboo and others only as canvas prints?

Great question.  You see, we are a small artist-owned-and-operated company, and so we can only keep a limited quantity of bamboo-mounted items in stock.  Any and all of our paintings can be mounted on bamboo and we are happy to reorder what is out of stock.  If you love one of our paintings and have a vision for it, just email us what you want.  We love helping art lovers!

5. I love the bamboo mounting and I'd like it in a larger size.  What other sizes can the bamboo-mounted prints come in?

Sizes include 8x10, 16x20, 20x24, 30x45, and many more.  If you are interested in a larger bamboo-mounted print, please contact us so we can give you a personalized quote.  Bamboo mounting makes prints significantly more expensive per inch than they are as a regular stretched canvas - but to many, it's worth it. If you are interested in a large bamboo-mounted piece, we're happy to help make it happen.

6. What can you tell me about your Available Paintings?

These are the only original paintings we have available for sale. Everything else either already has a home or is currently not for sale.  If you're very interested in the original of something not listed for sale, feel free to contact us and we'll tell you about its status.  If you're contemplating the purchase of one of our remaining paintings, you might want to grab it before its gone!

Thank you!
